This, in turn, demands a fresh approach and outlook from the management of healthcare organisations. The need is to sharpen knowledge-skill-attitude combine of the healthcare organisation managers. Healthcare Industry Scope and Projections:

Indian healthcare industry is expected to grow up to USD 372 billion by 2022 (CAGR of 22% from 2016). The hospital sector in India alone, comprising of 80% of healthcare industry, is expected to grow upto USD 132.84 billion by 2022 from USD 61.8 billion in 2017 with a CAGR of 16-17%. A combine of multiple actors including pharmaceutical industry, healthcare IT companies, insurance providers, medical device manufacturers closely connected with core healthcare sector influence and impact healthcare sector functioning as well as performance.

The changing demographic profile and improved socio-economic status of the population has led to the increased demand for healthcare services and infrastructure. Shift from curative to preventive and promotive care has made the wellness healthcare services including indigenous system of medicine (AYUSH) even more attractive. Along with the affordable tertiary care services, the attractive wellness sector has also encouraged medical tourism sector in India, which is forecasted to grow to the size of USD 9 billion by 2020.

The healthcare sector in India has observed quite a number of mergers and acquisitions, and investments by many domestic and international private players in the recent past. This is expected to increase further in the days to come, with governmental support with the policy-level modifications. The technological initiatives in healthcare are expected to change the face and mode of delivery of healthcare services.

The medical devices market is projected to reach USD 11 billion by 2022. The major drivers for this sector are the rising geriatric population, growth in medical tourism, thrive to attain cost leadership, FDI and government initiatives and incentives. This has led to surge of R&D not only in the medical devices sector but in every sphere of healthcare sector.

The government’s recognisable leapfrog efforts to reduce the gap in the healthcare ecosystem and supply chain evidenced during the COVID-19 management is very much reflected in the current year’s budgetary allocation for healthcare sector with a proposed increased outlay of 137% from the previous year. The budget targets to strengthen the existing and establishing new secondary and tertiary care centres.

With a huge opportunity linked with the anticipated growth of the healthcare sector, availability, accessibility and affordability, quality-based patient-centric care continue to be the focus of any healthcare programmes, initiatives and services. Both the public and various institutions of the private sectors have been working towards this goal. The Executive Program in Hospital Management is envisaging a diverse and broad-based participation from individuals holding qualifications ranging from MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, Nursing, Paramedics, Physiotherapy, Biomedical engineering and other related domains as also aims at participation from Hospital Administrators covering human resources, marketing and quality departments. Programme Delivery


The program delivery will be anchored by renowned professionals from various domains of healthcare management space with outstanding academic background and relevant rich experience, the facilitating faculty will impart distinctive input with eminent practice relevance. The scope of providing international exposure as an additional component is being evaluated.

Classroom Sessions: Across the 11 months, classrooms sessions would be conducted at regular intervals. Each session would be for 10 days of onsite learning.

Online Sessions: The participants will make the best of this program by the use of technological platform for interactive learnings.

Field Visits and Minor Projects: As a part of this program, the participants will gain the exposure to a range of healthcare organisations. This will aid the participants to compare and contrast the characteristics of these HCOs. Participants will also undertake a minor project that orients them to conduct situational analysis.

Self-study mode: The participants are required to dedicate 2-3 hours a day on self-study preparing them for the classroom discussions and activities.

Putting Principles into Practice: The participants will showcase their learnings through the application of the concepts by carrying out a major project at their workplace.
