BOOK LAUNCH OF “MY CONVERSATION WITH MONEY” & PANEL DISCUSSION ON “ MANAGING MONEY FOR MILLENNIALS”

On 18th February 2019 ISBR Business School hosted inauguration of book “My conversation with money” by author Shweta Jain followed by a panel discussion on “Managing money for millenials” consisting of panellists Ms. Shweta Jain (Founder, Investography Pvt. Ltd), Mr. Uday Dhoot (CFA, CFP, Founder OyePaisa.com), Ms. Ashoo Keshav (Head South- Family Offices, Distribution/Ebusiness at DSP mutual funds), Ms.Lynette Nazareth (Program Director at CGP India) and Mr. Kirron Bindu (Senior Faculty Finance- ISBR Business School & Founder- Mellen Capital).

The event started with Mr. Manish Kothari (Founder and Managing Director- ISBR Business School) addressing the students and telling them about the lessons he learnt about money since childhood and how he is implementing those lessons in present too. It was followed by inauguration of the book after which Ms. Shweta Jain addressed the students and the panel telling about her experiences and her book. She emphasized on importance of managing the money, how the present YOLO mentality of millennial has been shaking up the savings pattern and gave tips like save first and spend later.

Millennial also known as Gen Y , usually refers to the people born between the years 1990 to 1996 or the individuals who reached adulthood during 21st century. In the panel discussion followed by the inauguration, the panelists discussed how the millennial are facing a different financial picture than what their parents did when they first started out. The panelists helped each and every one to understand how to recognize these differences and make necessary changes so that the finances are handled in an effective manner. The panelists suggested students to undergo essential financial planning such as effectively dealing with their student loans, keep looking for new and better opportunities during job , to stop or reduce the usage of credit cards etc.

This entire event was a great learning for the students as it is the most crucial time of their lives where they are going to lay the foundation of their future and learning like these will definitely help them to plan better and more effectively for a better future.
