INDUSTRIAL VISIT- VACON INDIA

On the 14th of August 2014, at 11:00 am the students of MBA (Batch A) were taken for an industry visit to Vacon Bangalore, Vacon India is a famous multinational company which was established in 2006 with its registered office located at Chennai and factory in Bangalore. Vacon additionally has strong in-house capability for Design, Application Software Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Testing, After Sales Service and Customer Training. The Panels Assembling facility which is situated at Bangalore caters to demanding segments with a total solution for Steel, Cement, Power, HVAC, Textile, Mining, Cranes and Harbour, Oil and Gas, Plastic, Renewable – Wind & Solar segments.

Students were firstly taken to the pantry where they were given short presentations by the Engineering and Operation heads respectively on the various industries that Vacon  has  branched out into namely Industries such as Building Automation, Cranes and Hoists, Marine and Offshore, Mining and Metals, Water and Wastewater, Elevators and Escalators, Pulp and Paper, Food and Beverage, Oil and Gas, Solar and lastly Wind.  This was followed by a look into Vacon India’s Sales and Service network which according to the officials is spread across the country with 38 Partners & direct presence in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Kolkata, Bhilai, Raipur, Surat, Indore and Delhi. Vacon India has expanded the Sales & Service network in the neighbouring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Managers also explained how Vacon India offers best support to its customers and has working experience and Approvals with all the leading consultants/customers in Steel, Cement, Power, HVAC, Solar, Oil & Gas, Large Public Sector Undertaking companies & Private corporate houses.

At the end of the presentations students were taken on a tour through the factory in order to showcase the assembly process, furthermore the official explained how Vacon is continuously driven by a passion to develop, manufacture and sell the best AC drives and inverters in the world – and provide customers with efficient product lifecycle services and that’s what they work towards. Overall the session was a very informative and fun learning experience.
