C-Talk: Statistics

Prof. V. V. Rao did his masters in Statistics from Andhra University.Currently pursuing FPM. Started Career as a Deputy Statistical officerand moved into teaching in the year of 2008 and has been associated with ISBR for over a decade and handling all quantitative techniquepapers for various courses across regular and working professionals.
Abstract/Snapshot:
The entire session was focused on the theoretical and practical aspects involved in statistics.

Flow of event:The event started off with the resource person introducing the topic to the students. He started from the basics like mean, median, mode, differences between diagrams and graphs. Later he carried on with a bit more complex topics like different types of data, measures of central tendency, various measures of central tendency involving arithmetic mean, geometric mean and harmonic mean. At the end, he provided the students with couple of data to work with and to apply the same techniques on.

Learnings from the event:
The session laid a basic foundation on statistics for all the students irrespective of their background in under graduation.
