Controsyy- Ignite 1.0- Day Two

Elite Marketers, Marketing Club of ISBR organized IGNITE 1.O ,
an event in the quest of best marketing Management team and the best Manager. It was a 4 days
marketing event, with full of excitement and challenges. A roller coaster event for the
participants. The event starts with Maiz and followed by Beat around the bush, Turncoat, Ignite
To SMASH, Innovation 360, and ends with Marketing Maestro. Participants showed us great
fighting sprite throughout the events.

Controsyy was the second day of this event!

In this event participants were shown a controversial ad by brands and each team had to defend the ad by showcasing it in a way that the ad was not controversial instead it delivered a positive message in the society.

The event was held in ISBR Business School organized by Elite Marketers. Total of 22 teams participated in the event and the excitement level of all the team members was astonishing. All the teams performed really well and competition was tough. Out of 22 teams, 5 teams got eliminated and 17 teams went ahead for further rounds.

Flow of event:
The event started with welcome speech for all the students. All of them were informed about the rules and regulations. Then each team kept coming to the dais and after their justification for the controversy questions from judges were pointed at them. Each team got a chance to give their judgement on the basis of ads that were given to them. In the end 5 teams got eliminated and others proceeded to the next event.

Learnings from the event:
People are more likely to read and share content that corresponds with their own values. They can solidify an ideal image of themselves within their social circle and their own thinking by letting the world know about their ideas. Opinionated material has a way of making people think and consider alternative points of view, which leads to more devoted audiences because it may educate people new things and help influence their outlook on life. While controversial advertising might generate more conversation than other sorts of ads, they can be harmful to your company if performed incorrectly or in a purely performative manner.

Feedback from students
Controversial Ad questions mentioned a competitive environment. As a management student it would help them to assess situations in the market and learn how to react to them.
