DEEPEN YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN MARKETING

Brief Profile of Speaker:
Mr. Kiran Chandrashekar, Director of Windwalkers, is an accomplished businessman with international certification in Emotional Intelligence Profiling. He also has over 30 years of expertise in a variety of industries in marketing communications. He is the owner of several businesses, including an integrated digital marketing firm, a camp in the Western Ghats, an outbound training firm called “Wind Walkers,” and a company called “Joy Decoded” that provides coaching and consulting services for various MSME’s and corporate clients in the areas of leadership, team building, sales training, and design thinking based on emotional intelligence.

Abstract/Snapshot:
The lesson gave participants an understanding of emotional intelligence and how crucial it is. The guest speaker, a marketing communications expert, was able to tie the subject to knowing how the customers’ minds function by explaining to us how our minds may be influenced.
Flow of event:
Aashima Bhargava, one of our students, introduced the speaker to the group at the start of the session. Mr. Kiran Chandrashekar took over the workshop and introduced the main theme, which was emotional intelligence. We were informed that a variety of factors influence how we respond to and behave around particular situations. We had a conversation about whether all marketing is fundamentally a form of deception. The class was asked to consider this subject and offer their thoughts. One of the main topics of discussion was the moral conundrum that every marketer faces and whether or not they should deceive their customers. Numerous pupils expressed thoughts in various degrees. Then Mr. Kiran talked about the several levels of awareness that each person has, including their level of awareness and mental processing at the subconscious, conscious, and unconscious levels. Also, Sir had four students speak informally on a variety of issues as part of a brief exercise. He covered the three pillars of emotional intelligence—empathy, mindfulness, and self-regulation—at the conclusion. These are some of the main issues raised during the guest lecture:

 Brain Mapping
 Levels of Awareness
 Mental Processing
 New Brain and Old Brain
 The Customer Journey
 The Comfort Zone
 Neuroplasticity
 Drip Marketing
 Ethical Marketing
 Brands with Tribes

Learnings from the event:
With this guest lecture, we were able to comprehend the workings of the mind and the reasons behind our actions. We were able to recognise the many levels of awareness that both consumers and marketers have, as well as how it is our job to choose wisely. Being ethical in the marketing process was emphasised heavily, and it is a quality that all future marketers should have. The lesson was quite participatory because Sir provided us with numerous examples of actual businesses, which helped us better understand the concepts being discussed. Finally, we were able to comprehend the three primary components of emotional intelligence: self-regulation, mindfulness, and empathy. These topics helped us correlate between our emotional intelligence along with marketing, which is a core subject for us.
