- Chief Guest – Col. (Prof) Y.S. Siddegowda, Vice Chancellor, Tumkur Universiy, Tumkur.
Col (Prof) Y.S.Siddegowda, A Seasoned Academician and an Ardent Researcher combined with his Gifted Administrative Skills, earns him an illustrious position on the pedestal of Academic Excellence. Prof. Y.S.Siddegowda is an academician with an in-depth knowledge in teaching pedagogy, research, education, and administration. His distinguished career experience spans over 39 years. He, was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Tumkur University, owing to his expertise in education and administration. He has demonstrated excellent professionalism and character while performing his duties and as a visionary, pursued initiatives to ensure that the university values strong discipline and fosters equality, diversity and inclusion. He strongly advocated the democratic authencity of the University. He believes in promoting and achieving greater coordination among the university system and set in motion an intensive process of university wide academic planning intended to identify some of Tumkur University’s main intellectual and pragmatic priorities. Hon‟ble Vice Chancellor has contributed towards adoption of best practices of education and was instrumental in the elevation of the institutions status. In the on-going Pandemic, he was committed towards taking meaningful steps by involving students from across the eco spectrum to the task of adapting the university to an era of rapid information growth and blended learning. He has used his vast experiences and exposures through his international academic affiliates to project the university image to the global academic stakeholders and research enthusiasts, resulting in an MoU with Salford University, UK. He is involved in promoting critical interdisciplinary research working across various disciplines, engaging in empirical research. He can be referred to as an architect who has undertaken the herculean task of constructing and creating a class campus, investing in our future. He is committed to modelling the new campus to create a welcoming student- centred and in accordance to the New National Education Policy.
The Hon‟ble vice Chancellor contributed towards adoption of best practices of education and was instrumental in the elevation of the institution’s status. It was a moment of pride when the Higher Education Ministry, Govt. of Karnataka, appointed the vice chancellor to head the committee for Social sciences for the implementation of National Education
Policy. When you are a dedicated academician striving for the good of the student and the teaching fraternity under all circumstances, your efforts do not go unrecognised. I take this opportunity to read out to you all some of the recognitions conferred on the Honourable Vice Chancellor.
He has won several accolades and it comprises the conferment of the Rank of „Honorary Colonel‟ and the Rank of „Colonel Commandant of National Cadet Corps‟, NCC, by Government of India.
He was conferred with the Golden AIM Award as “The Most Dedicated Vice Chancellor”2020.
On the occasion of The World Teachers‟ Day, he was awarded with, “Outstanding Academic Leadership Award” Conferred by The International Chamber for Service Industry.
Sri.Vanakallu Malleswara Maha Samsthana Suhektra Matta conferred Prof Y S Siddegowda with the title “Vishwa Jyothi”. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Award for Extraordinary Contribution to education,-lifetime Achievement award Conferred to him by the International Chamber for Service Industry

Guest of Honor – Mrs. Archana Rai, Editor-South, The Economic Times As the Editor South of The Economic Times, Archana Rai oversees national coverage of new economy, start-ups, and technology news for the paper. Prior to taking up this role, she was the first Startup Editor for Economic Times, tasked with introducing in-depth coverage of technology-driven new economy companies in India’s largest financial daily. In keeping with her role, she writes, edits, and speaks on topics related to the new economy. A yoga enthusiast and history buff that she is, she has worked at some of India’s largest media publications including the Outlook Group, Business India and HT Mint in a career spanning over two decades as a business journalist.
- Special Guest – Dr. Ramya R, Alumni, ISBR Research Centre: Dr. Ramya is a versatile teacher with more than 17 years of experience in Industry and educational institutions.Currently, she is heading the department of Management at Mysore Institute of Commerce and Arts, Mysore. Holds a Doctoral of Philosophy in Management from the University of Mysore. (ISBR Research Centre).
Learnings from the event:
ISBR Business school launched its first batch of Fellow Program in Management (FPM) on 07tH November, 2020 on a virtual platform. Whereas, second batch of FPM 2021-24 inauguration took place from 11:00 A.M. to 02:00 PM. The FPM course, or the Fellow Program in Management, is a 3-year long doctoral course in the various specializations of management. An ideal doctoral degree for scholars who wish to pursue managerial roles or pursue an academic career in the future. With the rapid expansion of management education in India, it has become inevitable that top business schools cater to the need of the faculty by producing excellent researchers, academicians and practitioners.
And amongst the top Institutes of management in the country that provide this course, our esteemed institute, ISBR Business School, has the opportunity to launch this FPM program this year 2021 with a glorious path laid ahead for all the scholars. The utmost value of the course would be understanding the need and significance of various pedagogical tools used in management education, to master the relevant methodology and tools of management research. It would also pave a path to think critically, reflect originally and contribute to the body of management thought. The goal is to develop academicians with ability to communicate effectively and develop researchers with high ethical standards in research work. The program was launched by esteemed dignitaries. The program started with welcome address by Dr. K.S. Anandaram, Sr. Director, ISBR Business School. Col. (Prof) Y.S. Siddegowda, Chief Guest & Vice-Chancellor, Tumkur University delivered his valuable speech on research has to be imbibed with innovation and passion to meet the contemporary needs of industry. He also narrated a transforming path to pursue and complete the doctoral degree successfully.
Dr. Y Lakshman Kumar, Director – Academics and Research created a profound awareness about FPM program to all the scholars attended on the inaugural program. He also share few of his real-time research experiences to the scholars.
Following to the Dr YLK’s address, an eloquent speech delivered on research significance and its need of the hour by Mrs. Archana Rai, Editor-South, The Economic Times. Next to that, Dr. Ramya R, Alumni, ISBR Research Centre share her research related experience at ISBR Research Centre. Dr. B.S. Patil conversation went on the do and
don’ts to be kept in research scholars mind while pursuing the program.
Dr. Manohar, Sr. Director finally took over the session and gave his remarks on the program. And the session got concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. M R Jhansi Rani, Dy. Director – Research, ISBR Business school.
