ISBR Business School organised Convocation 2016 on 3rd July 2016 at ISBR Business School, Electronic City campus. The guests of honor were Dr Rajeev Gowda, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shri R Shivakumar, Chairman ASSOCHAM and Sri Ravi Gururaj, Chairman NASSCOM Product Council.
In his inaugural address, Dr Rajeev Gowda emphasised on the need for management schools to develop and nurture talent in young people to become more energetic, dynamic and result oriented. “The world has become flat. The young minds are very much instrumental for the upliftment of the society. Plethora of opportunities is available within the country”, he said.
Sri Ravi Gururaj received the Eminence Award for his outstanding contribution in creating right ecosystem for entrepreneurship development of higher order, through NASSCOM support projects for Start-ups in India. In his acceptance speech, he said,”Students should get attached to the institutions and faculty should feel college as second home.”
Dr Devika Gunasheela who received Award of Eminence for her contribution to health care for women and children, asked students to focus more on doing social activities for the good of the society.
Sri Sunil Rao, Country Head, Google, advocated students to make right choice at the beginning of the career. He asked students to be empathetic, understanding own strengths and to work on multiple projects to get maximum exposure across various departments within organisation. Hard work was the answer for success in career, he said.
195 students graduated from the institute and received their convocation certificate. Twenty Industry patrons like Google, Volvo, GE Industrial Solutions, Fidelity National Financials, Kotak Mahindra, TUV Rhienland and Decathlon graced the occasion.
Gems of ISBR, a dossier of success stories of alumni of ISBR were released by Mr Shivakumar. Sixteen Gems awardees received the certificates.
Senior Director, DR Anandram administered the oath to graduating students. Mr Manish Kothari, Managing Director ISBR, declared the convocation was dedicated to the cause of giving. He acknowledged that in giving, there was joy of accomplishment.
As a CSR activity, Rajasthan Cosmo Club donated 3000 uniforms through ISBR and ELICIA to government schools on this occasion.
Dean ISBR, Dr C Manohar, presented the achievement of the ISBR and shared the saga of fulfilment and the journey of the accomplishment.
Dr Chandra Niranjan, Dean Academics, ISBR, proposed the vote of thanks.
