OBJECTIVES
 The Lean Six Sigma Program is aimed at helping you master Lean and Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
 As organizations strive for continuous improvement, they seek management professionals that can employ problem solving and business
know-how to enhance internal processes. This course positions you to take the lead in quality management projects.
 To help students in understanding the core principles of Lean Six Sigma, how to implement quality projects and specific industry applications.
 To help students to use the statistical Minitab tool to enable effective statistical analysis for projects.


LEARNINGS

This series was conducted in four sessions, On day 1, we were briefed about six sigma, what it is, the purpose of six sigma and its levels, the history and applicability of six sigma, DMAIC and DMADV methodology. We also learnt about Voice of customer and the tools to analyse voice of the customer and how to translate it into critical to quality, the purpose of kano model and how to build the Kano model, In addition to that we also learned about Project charter, how to create the Project Charter, Process mapping and types of process maps.

Day 2, started with the introduction of measure phase which included our understanding of data and its types, introduction to Minitab, distribution of data, characteristics of variable data, demonstration of graphical tools on Minitab, and determining process capability
Day 3 started with the analyze phase wherein we learnt about the purpose of fishbone diagram, Pareto chart the 5 whys, TIMHWOOD. We also learnt about hypothesis testing, different types of hypothesis testing, correlation and regression analysis using Minitab.
Day 4, we learnt about the improve and control phase. In the improve phase we learnt about idea generation, Risk proofing, Kaizen Kanban and Poka yoke approaches and pilot and cost benefit analysis. In the control phase we learnt
about the purpose of control, control charts and its types, Process management system and control response plan.

Conclusion

The session was very insightful and interactive. We gained an in depth knowledge about six sigma and its importance. how to help an organization in reducing risk and eliminating errors and defects, how to improve business processes and sustain quality development and increase ones value across industries.
