LEARNING
Good consultants demonstrate skills that offer concrete and specific information to help solve a
problem or improve a process for a business this is a stepping stone for any business. We were
briefed about how consulting skills is linked to career skills and the importance of career skills. In the
second half of the session we were exposed to the art of story telling. Storytelling conveys purpose
and businesses with purpose are noticed and win the loyalty of consumers. So it’s not enough to have a
product or service that solves a problem the company needs to stand out and this can be done with story
telling so that the consumers can relate. We were given insights regarding the framework of story telling
which was exposition, complication, climax, reversal and denouement.
We were also taught about the tools of story telling and were given in depth detail about what is analogy,
anecdote and post gap presentation which was very interesting. Sir also shared his experience in the
consulting field and also gave insights about the career opportunities in the field of consulting. The session
ended with question and answer which were asked by the students.
CONCLUSION
The session was very insightful and very interactive as a lot of real life examples were given to the students
and also case study was discussed due to which the session was more lively and students could relate to
the topic as well. We also got to learn how the consulting industry works and what are the important skills
required related to this field.
