In collaboration with BMS Government First Grade College, Huliyar Tumkur, Government First Grade College, Chikkanayakahalli, and FGCG, Dr. K.S. Lakshmi served as the speaker of honour for a student conference for the department of commerce students at St. Claret College in Bangalore.

The conference, SPARK, will feature discussions on the subject of innovations and sustainability in business and commerce. This was organized as a part of Institution Innovation Council (IIC) activity. She gave a few examples of creative approaches and referenced one from a TED talk in which the speaker described how Bhutan achieved sustainability by being a carbon-negative nation as well as a carbon-neutral one. She applauded the students for presenting papers on such a vital and pertinent theme.
The event included presentations from about 20 student teams on a range of subjects, including the impact of social media, smart and sustainable cities, and sustainable enterprises, to name a few.
