On 20th August 2016, ISBR organized a panel discussion on Goods and Services Tax (GST). The panel was graced by the industry experts and academician, Mr. Naveen Raj Purohit, Mr. Sriramprasad and Prof. Kiran Bindu.
The session was attended by all the PGDM and MBA students of 2016-18 batch. The faculty members including Dr. Chandra Niranjan, Dean-Academics were also present during the entire panel discussion.
The discussion started with the focus on how the GST would bring social and economic reforms in the Indian economy. They analyzed the various aspects and implications of GST.
The session continued with the panel speakers sharing their knowledge on GST. They informed students about how the GST will replace all indirect taxes levied on goods and services by the Central and State Governments in India.
Students took great interest and put questions during the Q & A round which were welcomed and answered by the panel. Replying to one such question, the panel further discussed the difference between the current Income Tax and the GST.
It was a great informative session for students as they usher in their professional journey.
