PARICHAY: “Lead Yourself”, a signature program exclusively delivered for the freshers as a part of the Orientation program at ISBR. It is an eight-hour program which starts off with the ice breakers and set expectations for the audience. The workshop focused on the importance of understanding “Self” and the power of intrapersonal and interpersonal communication.
The session was a power packed energizer, delivered by Prof. Preeja Sreedhar, corporate trainer and faculty in the area of communication and HR.
The objective of the workshop was to acclimatize the newbies to the importance of soft skills in contemporary times and create an awareness of the impending challenges in today’s world. The methodology opted for a lecture, case analysis, video reviews, and role-playing.
The present world is termed as VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) and to deal with such a competitive environment we have to be self- aware of our abilities.
A brainstorming activity was conducted where students noted their weakness so that they can develop and transform this into strength by consistent and constructive effort.
After this, the students had a very interesting activity where they were divided into 6 groups and had to present a role-play on the topic ‘imitation! The session ended with a discussion on James Marcia’s stages of self-identity. The session helped students learn the importance of development and how this will help them to scale greater heights in the corporate world.
