Profile of the Speaker:
Mr. Shashank Savekar is currently employed at Apna as an HR manager. He carries an almost 9 years of experience in HR domain in various organization like OYO, Envoy Mortgage, Rupeek Fintech etc. He has worked in various different profiles like Talent Acquisition Lead and HR Business Partner with OYO rooms where he was responsible for the complete recruitment cycle in all verticals of OYO and as a Business Partner he was responsible for transforming business vision into HR incentives that improve performance, growth, and employee engagement. He was Senior HR Specialist at Envoy Mortgage where he was instrumental in scaling the company from 50 to 150 employees. He encompasses a wide variety range of work experience in various industries like Start-ups, Fintech, Consultancy, etc.


ABSTRACT:
The session begins with an understanding related to personal experience and journey of the speaker of working in different industries. Then, he discussed about what are the industry requirements from all the aspiring candidates. Later, it was proceeded with a brief question and answer round where he gave some important insights about the working of the industry.


FLOW OF EVENTS:

This session started with the discussion of various topics concerned, like:

  1. How company selects the candidates based on the soft skills, aptitude, brand image of institute and industry ready preferred students.
  2. Besides, he gave us overview about the industry’s expectation in terms of Flexibility an Creative Approach along with Integrated Approaches where he explained the importance of having knowledge of every domain.
  3. He also focused on the importance of Emotional Intelligence (EI) which is very much important for each and every individual whether it is professional or personal lives.
  4. The lessons were given on resume building, do’s and don’ts, various LinkedIn Courses etc. which is very much helpful for the student at this current stage. So, in this way, sir tried to cover all the relevant topics about the skill sets required for HR, along with various job roles which are available in domains of Marketing, Finance and Operations, which was followed by the queries solving session.
    LEARNINGS FROM THE EVENTS:
    The session was insightful and full of learnings as we were able to understand what the
    employers wants from the candidates and how the graduate students can become a
    business leader which is the need of an hour. His special focus was on the basic and major
    details regarding the resume building because every job requires a tailor-made resume
    nowadays so this becomes a very much important for students.
