Success of Global PGDM

Why did you join Global PGDM?
I have come across this Global PGDM Program by ISBR and realized that as a student, this program will give me great exposure to the outside world. In a competitive environment with students from all over the world with different ethnicities, I will get a chance to meet them all. I will get a chance to travel and understand how things work here in Europe. As the education system here in Germany is vast, the knowledge gained from the professors will be one of the main reasons to choose Global PGDM.

Once enrolling for the program which abroad university you chose?

I chose Hochschule Hof (Germany).

What preparations did you make before you set out for the Global PGDM?

With the help of our college management team, the visa process was hassle free and everything got aligned in a proper way. I did started learning German and their culture.

How was your first day in university?

It was -16 degrees and we had to wear two jackets to cover ourselves from the cold. It was a warm welcome from the international team and there were students from different countries where I got a chance to introduce myself. The college arranged a dinner for us at one of the local restaurants and got a chance to taste the local cuisine. It was amazing to meet new friends who were showing so much interest in becoming good friends. Your Daily routine? My day starts with an early morning jog followed by yoga. It is a pleasure to jog outside in the fresh air watching the sun rise. The rest are the classes and once the classes are done, we all meet up at the local bars and try different dishes. We talk, we dance and then finally we say goodbye and see each other the next morning.

Places You Visited?
I am a huge fan of world war historical sites and it was a great opportunity for me to explore them all. The countries here are very nearby and one can travel to another country in just like 4 or 5 hours. I have visited Prague the capital city of Czech, I really enjoyed the time in Prague.

Friends you made?
Most of my friends here are from different countries like Germany, Italy, Czech, Egypt, Jordan, South Korea, and many more. I love spending time with them. Your achievement/contribution/ things you discovered? In a class of 50 international students, I have never seen anywhere back in India, the way the international students presented during their presentations. There were so many surprises and I enjoyed each and every moment of their presentations. When it was finally my turn I was very nervous and I geared up my courage and gave the presentation where everyone appreciated me. The whole session was so enriching. What I saw, was a great learning for me. The professor was very helpful.

Funny moments, memories?
We have something or the other events running in our college and I signed up for this Running Dinner where I was put into an international group and then each group will cook their cultural food. I am not a chef but I managed to cook a desert “Gajar ka Halwa”. People liked it and I also got a chance to taste each countries cultural food. After the dinner we had small funny games where we all have to participate and there is this one Korean game where as a Korean person shouts, we must lift both hands and shout like him, the one who does late will lose. It was very funny and we enjoyed it a lot.

Cultural Exposure ?
I have experienced so much of cultural exposure here, each people from different countries have different cultures and it was a great opportunity for me to experience them.

A career in the German Economy?
In a world with heavy competition, it is not that easy to start a career here in Germany. But with proper planning and requisite qualifications, one can find opportunities here in Germany. Only the finest and some with luck are able to start their career here in Germany. Food and locals? When it comes to food, Germans eat a lot of schnitzels, salads, and a lot of Pommes Frites, and not to mention the local beer. The locals brew their own beer and to be honest they taste really good. I fell in love with German beers. Every week there are these Beer festivals and I love attending them. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. Wherever I go, I go as if it’s my hometown, and everywhere people smile and say hello. It is good to see everyone welcome wherever I go. Your tips to these Global PGDM aspirants.
At this point in time when I am sharing my experience, I am still pursuing this program in Germany and I only want to say that Global Exposure has made a huge positive difference in my perspective in all aspects whether it is career or life. It has opened a whole new door of opportunities for me. To all those aspirants, I would recommend this program for sure.
