ISBR MBA Students of 2016-18 batch were taken to visit Akshayapatra Foundation at ISCON Temple on 25th of July, 2016.
“ Unlimited food for education” is the idea behind the Akshay Patra. Akshayapatra Foundation is serving 90,000 kids all over Karnataka studying in govt. schools with Mid Day Meal, thus ensuring the better health and inspiring the kids towards a better future of the Nation.
Students visited the Akshayapatra Foundation’s food factory using all protective measures. They covered their heads and wore protective footwear to maintain hygiene. To the Knowledge of Students, they came to know how 12000 litres of sambhar and 6 tons of rice is prepared daily to serve 90,000 students of Karnataka govt. schools, along with the sterilisation of vessels containing food, delivery process, and completion of the work daily by 09:30 am to start the distribution of food to all govt. registered schools. As per saying of M. Gandhi, “Do as you want others to do unto you”, students not only visited the factory and learnt about its functioning, but also had the same food for lunch.
Being students themselves, and being the future rulers, MBA Students of ISBR witnessed a process that builds kid’s heath, increase school attendance/ enrolement and thus shape them towards a better future.
In short, a visit to Akshayapatra introduced to the beginning of learning for these going to be leaders.
