World Head Injury Awareness Session on 21 March 2017

Head Injury Awareness Session @ ISBR in association with Narayana Hrudyalaya

Accidents are very common in today’s time due to increased traffic and our lifestyle. Some accidents may be minor, while some are major; some contagious, while some, none. However one such type of accident which kills maximum lives in country is road accidents. Bengaluru traffic is congested, honky and nasty. One such population group which is prone to road accidents are students between the age group of 16-28 years.

“Every year, 20th March is observed as World Head Injury Awareness Day”

Narayana Health (NH) in association with Bangalore City Traffic Police conducted an awareness session for ISBR students to educate them on the present scenario of fatalities due to head injuries, causes and preventions lawful guidelines to protect oneself.

Medical experts from NH explained the audience on the Causes & Prevention of Head Injuries and First Aid tips during the incidence of Head Injuries etc. Personnel from Bangalore City Traffic Police educated the audience with statistics of vehicular accidents, guidelines/traffic rules, etc

Dr. Saurav Mahanta, Consultant, Emergency Medicine, Narayana Health graced the occasion. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support by American Heart Association.

He gave interesting facts about ‘Road Accidents’ and how such road accidents affect the brain and can be avoided.  He gave various precautionary measures for the young bloods to nurture them to a good and safe livelihood.

 It was an informative session altogether.
