Article title
The article titles should be provided in title case, which means that all the words except for prepositions, articles, and conjunctions should be in uppercase. Also, the word after colon (if any) should be in uppercase. All the scientific names should be in italics.
Example: Local Staging of Colon Cancer: A Cross-Sectional Analysis
Author names
First names or initials (if used), middle names or initials (if used), and surnames for all authors. Also please provide any ORCiD available for authors with the ORCID author hyperlink.
Use the following format for ORCID iDs:
[Author Name] https://orcid.org/0000-000X-XXXX-XXXX
Affiliations
Affiliation should consists of — Department, University or Organization, City, and Country for all the authors. One of the authors should be designated as the corresponding author with an asterisk (*) against his/her name. Only the corresponding author’s email address should be provided in the article.
Abstract & Keywords
The abstract should not exceed 300 words. References should never be cited in the Abstract section. Abbreviations should be defined in the first occurrence, and Abstract and text sections should be treated individually in case of abbreviation usage.
Keywords
The article should have minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 keywords. Keywords should be written in title case and separated by a comma. Avoid general and plural terms and multiple concepts (avoid, for example, 'and', 'of'). Abbreviations should not be included in keywords.
Spelling & Punctuation
Spelling: Please use American spelling consistently throughout your manuscript
Punctuation:
- US punctuation style should be followed consistently throughout your manuscript.
- In case of quotations, punctuation should come inside, e.g., "inside quotation marks,"
- Please use serial comma: like this, this, and this.
- Double quotation marks should be followed, except where "a quotation is 'within' a quotation"
Headings
Numbered headings should be followed.
Number the article headings in Arabic style format. Headings should follow the title case, meaning that all words except for prepositions, articles, and conjunctions should be capitalized. All scientific names should be in italics. No capital after a colon
Example: 1. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
1.1. Model Description
1.1.2. Model Description: an Analysis
Abbreviations
All abbreviations should be defined on first occurrence in the text along with the abbreviation in parenthesis and from the next instance, it should be abbreviated. E.g. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Units and Symbols
Symbols should be used while referring to alpha, beta, mu, etc (Ex: α, β, μ, etc). All units to follow the International System of Units (SI units).
Leading zero can be used
Numbers 10 100 1000 10,000 100,000 (comma should be used as thousand separator)
Date format
Use British date format in-text.
Example: 24 October 2013
Equations
Please provide equations in editable format, don’t supply equation in picture format.
Figures: General guidelines
• Figures Format & Resolution: Authors are requested to supply high-resolution versions of the figures in TIFF, JPEG or EPS format. We require that figures be created at a minimum resolution of 300 PPI.
• Citation: All figures must be cited in the text and authors will indicate where they want to insert in text. E.g. <insert figure 1 here>. The figure citations should follow sequential order in text.
• Figure captions: These have to be included in the text and provided sequentially at the end of the article. E.g. Figure 1. Percentage of detection rate vs. the number of nodes.
Tables: General guidelines
• All tables should have a caption and written in Table 1 with a period (.).
Example: Table 1. Diagnostic performance of magnetic resonance imaging.
• Footnotes can be used to explain abbreviations. Tables extending beyond 1 page should be avoided.
Acknowledgments
People who contributed to the work but do not fit the criteria for authors should be listed in the Acknowledgments, along with their contributions.
Reference Citations
References should follow APA style.
References are cited in the text by the author's surname, the publication date of the work cited, and a page number (if any).
Example: Direct citation: This is the text, and Sharma (2012) says "quoted text" which supports my argument.
Indirect citation: This is the text, and this is supported by "quoted text" (Sharma, 2012, p. 1).
For 3 to 5 Authors:
At first mention: Sharma, Kapoor, Khan, Chen, and Das (2012) or (Sharma, Kapoor, Khan, Chen, & Das, 2012)
At subsequent mentions: Sharma et al. (2012) or (Sharma et al., 2012)
In cases where two or more references would shorten to the same form, retain all three names.
For 6 or more Authors:
Sharma et al. (2012) or (Sharma et al., 2012)
References
- Reference list should follow alphabetical order by surname of first author followed by initials.
- Include all names up to seven authors. If there are more than seven authors, list the first six with an ellipsis before the last. E.g. Author, A., Author, B., Author, C., Author, D., Author, E., Author, F., … Author, G. (2001).
- Journal name should be fully expanded and not abbreviated; provide names of all co-authors; do not use et al.; provide full page range; provide DOI number/ hyperlink to the references
- Meetings, abstracts, conference talks, or papers that have been submitted but not yet accepted should not be cited.
